Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has explained what he meant when he said “there’s not long to wait” in a conversation about Russian-US relations.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry spoke at a press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, where he explained the meaning of his phrase “there is not long to wait” on the issue of the resumption of dialogue between Washington and Moscow.
“I meant that the truth will prevail anyway. <...> "Not for long" can be applied to different time periods. In historical terms, of course,” said Lavrov, quoted by RBC.Two days earlier, Sergei Lavrov had told the Rossiya 1 television channel that Russia and the United States were in the "hot phase of the war" due to Washington's military assistance to Kiev. The minister expressed hope that “the Americans will wake up and they will resume some kind of dialogue again”, and added that there should not be a long wait.
