Kaliningrad Region Governor Anton Alikhanov congratulated the residents of the region on the 78th anniversary of the assault on the fortified city of Königsberg. The governor noted the courage of the Soviet soldiers during the capture of the most important city in East Prussia.
For the defeat of the Nazi invaders, 98 formations received the name “Königsberg”, 156 regiments, divisions, corps received orders. This was reported on the official portal of the government of the Kaliningrad region.
Immediately, 235 soldiers who took part in the capture of the city were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Governor Alikhanov congratulated and thanked all veterans of the Kaliningrad region for their contribution to the victory.
Earlier, The Eastern Herald in Kaliningrad reported that the governor of the Kaliningrad region spoke about the age of the ambulance fleet in the region. Anton Alikhanov named the number of outdated cars and the approximate terms for updating the fleet.
