London: Britain’s Buckingham Palace on Monday shared details of the formal coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla next month, including gleaming air-conditioned and horse-drawn carriages, historic jewelery and new emoji attractions for social media. It was built in 1760 and was first used by King George III to get from the Palace to Parliament in 1762 to address a session of Parliament.
According to the statement, “This carriage has been used during coronations since the time of William IV in 1831.” This carriage is pulled by eight horses and weighs about four tonnes. ”As part of the program, the King will return to the palace after the coronation and the King and Queen will be given a royal salute by the United Kingdom and Commonwealth Armed Forces. This will be followed by respect from the Armed Forces. Chief among the royal ornaments is the Coronation Regalia, which is kept for public viewing at the Tower of London. Around 2,000 guests will attend the ceremony at the Abbey over the weekend, including representatives from 850 charitable and community groups as well as winners of the British Empire Medal. Indian-origin chef and British Empire Medalist Manju Malhi is also among those invited by the royal couple.
