Conflict in Ukraine Could Last Longer Than 2023, Pentagon Data Leak Says

October 3, 2025

Secret US intelligence documents that have become available on the Internet indicate that the military conflict in Ukraine could drag on for a long time. According to the Pentagon, the battle for Donbass is expected to reach a stalemate by the end of 2023, with Russia unable to take full control of the region.

The documents note that Russia’s tactics are aimed at depleting the Ukrainian army, however, this leads to a decrease in ammunition stocks and the forces of Russia itself to the level. It could interfere with Moscow’s military goals, leading to a protracted conflict after 2023, the documents say.

Both sides, Russia and Ukraine, have moderate fighting strength, meaning they are likely to continue fighting for some time, Reuters reported.
