The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine expressed concern about Russia’s intention to start mass production of X-50 missiles in order to increase the intensity of missile strikes against critical infrastructure in the Ukraine. These data were announced by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexei Gromov during a briefing of the department.
Gromov noted that if the data on the planning of the Russian side is correct, then in June the Russian military-industrial complex will start mass production of X-50 missiles, which will significantly increase the intensity of strikes by fall of this year. At the same time, the story again sounded in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that the Russian stocks of missiles were running out, and in total about eight thousand Russian missiles were spent during the NMD.
According to the Ukrainian army, such a “waste” of the Russian military-industrial complex could compromise the degree of protection of certain parts of the Russian armed forces in the Far East. Such a statement by Gromov could become another indirect confirmation of the hostile intentions of NATO and the United States, in particular, towards the Russian Federation.
According to the Military Chronicle, the X-50 missile was adopted by Russian forces in 2019, there are two types of missiles in total: penetrating and cluster. A distinctive feature of the Russian missile is its operation at low altitudes, which makes its interception much more difficult for enemy air defense systems.
