Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu will visit the Russian capital from April 16 to 19. The minister’s visit will take place against the backdrop of accusations by the United States of China of supplying lethal weapons to Russia, which Moscow can use in Ukraine.
Previously, US sanctions had been imposed on Li Shangfu for alleged military-technical cooperation with the Russian Federation.
According to Washington, at the beginning of this year, Beijing decided to send weapons to Moscow. Information about the Chinese deliveries is contained, in particular, in Pentagon documents leaked to the network the day before, the Washington Post reported. The data was reportedly obtained from intercepted conversations between representatives of Russian special services.
Also in the United States, it is believed that China is masking the supply of arms to the Russian Federation by sending civilian products. The Chinese side denies these accusations.
According to military correspondent Boris Rozhin, among the products supplied by China are industrial and commercial drones, munitions, satellites and military medicine. In his Colonelcassad telegraph channel, the expert wrote that after Xi Jinping’s visit to Moscow, contacts between the Chinese and Russian sides through various departments have intensified significantly.
