At a meeting in Ramstein, Ukraine will ask the West for urgent deliveries of anti-aircraft missiles

October 3, 2025

The Ukrainian side intends to request urgent supplies of anti-aircraft missiles from the West at the next meeting of Ukraine’s contact group, the Financial Times reports, citing officials.

It is stated that Kiev fears that the lack of anti-aircraft missiles will allow the Russian army to launch massive bombardments.

Ukraine will request an urgent transfer of anti-aircraft missiles at a meeting with Western allies this week, fearing a severe shortage could allow Russia to launch massive bombardments.

According to the official, Ukrainians are increasingly raising the topic of short-range air defense systems, but in the West they are convinced that Ukraine has enough of them to protect the territory.

“We see no danger of Ukraine losing air superiority… Ukraine has enough (air defences) to defend itself,” a Western official said.

On the eve it became known that the Patriot air defense system with missiles arrived in Ukraine.
