The draw placed the Qatari team, the Asian champion, who is participating in the tournament for the second time in a row at the invitation of CONCACAF, in the second group, along with the teams of Mexico, Haiti and Honduras, while the first group included the teams of the United States, Jamaica and Nicaragua, and the winner of the qualifying match No. 9.. and included The third group is the teams of Costa Rica, Panama and El Salvador, and the winner of the qualifying match No. 8, while in the fourth group came the teams of Canada, Guatemala and Cuba and the winner of the qualifying match No. 7, noting that the preliminary qualifiers will be held during the period from 16 to 20 June next.
The Qatari national team will face Haiti at NRG Stadium in Houston on June 25 in the first round of Group B competitions, before meeting Honduras on June 29 at State Farm in Glendale, California in the second round.
