On April 18, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summons to Moscow the ambassadors of Great Britain, the United States and Canada: Bronnert, Tracy and LeClair. They were strongly protested due to recent provocative public statements. This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova.

Bronnert strongly protested against his own inadmissible statements and the provocative statements of the leadership of the British Foreign Office after the conviction of Vladimir Kara-Murza * in the case of treason and spreading forgery about the Russian army.

The head of the Canadian diplomatic mission in Moscow, Leclaire, was called to the step because of unacceptable public comments on this verdict. The head of the American diplomatic mission, summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, strongly protested against the fact of provocative statements.

“Such actions, committed publicly with the aim of putting pressure on the authorities and the courts, constitute a clear interference in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation. It has also been indicated that in the context of the shameless crackdown on dissent in the United States itself, attempts to protect the “agent of influence” overseen by Washington and other Western capitals seem hypocritical and ridiculous” , says Zakharova.

Zakharova noted that US Embassy employees who violated the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and abused their status were required to end their stay in Moscow earlier than scheduled.
