MDT postponed two performances of “Hamlet” with Kozlovsky

Petersburg Maly Drama Theater – Theater of Europe (MDT) has announced the postponement for one month of two performances of “Hamlet” with the participation of Danila Kozlovsky in the title role from April to the end of May. The decision is announced on to place theater.

“To our great regret, we are forced to postpone the performances of Hamlet, scheduled for April 20 and 21, to May 21 and 22 respectively,” the statement read.

The theater noted that tickets purchased by the public remain valid. “We really hope that the performances will take place,” added the MDT.

Petersburg edition of “Fontanka” writing , that the afternoon of April 20 at the theater box office they said the performance would take place according to the schedule, however, when they called back, MDT said that information had recently been received regarding the transfer of production in the second half of May. The reason for this decision is not specified.

On Saturday, April 22, in the Maly Drama Theater, another performance with the participation of Kozlovsky, “Deceit and Love”, should take place. As of the evening of April 20, there is no information on the postponement of this production.

On April 10, Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federal Project for Security and Anti-Corruption, asked Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev to test Kozlovsky for extremism because of an interview with the artist, in which he reportedly urged people to come out “to shout anti”. – Government slogans in the city center during a millionth rally.

Borodin also turned to Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov with a request for verification of the actor for discrediting the Russian military due to Kozlovsky’s statements against the military operation in Ukraine. In addition, the activist said he had prepared a request to regulatory authorities to verify Kozlovsky’s US citizenship.

The actor himself said in his Telegram channel that the “calls for rallies” mentioned in Borodin’s complaint were made “on the set of a historical series about the revolution, in front of the actors of mass scenes, on the piquet stage” by explaining the role of an actor.

Kozlovsky also noted that he did not leave Russia, but went to the United States “for a few days”, since his child lived there. The actor added that he has no other income other than Russian and does not have a second nationality, “especially American nationality”.

On April 17, TASS, citing sources, announced that Kozlovsky would be checked by the Moscow prosecutor’s office.

On April 19, it became known that the actor filed a lawsuit against Borodin with the Moscow Presnensky Court for the Protection of Honor and Dignity. Head of the Federal Security and Anti-Corruption Project informed “Lente.ru” that in its organization “expects a trial quickly, because in court we will dot all the t’s.”
