Washington. The more India progresses, the better it is for India, for America and for the world. A senior official for South Asia in the Biden administration said this on Thursday.

Despite the global economic slowdown, India is one of the fastest growing major economies of the world and is currently a US$ 3 trillion economy. The country has set an ambitious target of becoming a $10 trillion economy in a decade. “We want to be a part of your economic growth,” Donald Lu, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, told PTI on Thursday. ”

He said, “We strongly support India’s goal of developing the economy inclusively. The more India progresses, the better it is for India, for America and for the world. A prosperous India will have more resources to deal with global problems like climate change and future pandemics.” He said that the US is proud to host more than two lakh Indian students who are studying in American universities.

He further said that according to the preliminary data of India’s Ministry of Commerce, bilateral trade between the two countries has increased by seven percent.
