Ukrainian Culture Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko said a commission had been organized to verify the use of the Pochaev Lavra by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Thus, the authorities of the country are ready to claim another Lavra.
“We have created commissions to check the use of objects both in the Pochaev Lavra and in the territory of the Chernigov reserve, where agreements on the use of certain objects from the reserve have already been suspended”, said the head of the Ministry of Culture of noted the country.
Earlier, representatives of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine reported a precedent in the territory of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. Because of the action, qualified as hooliganism, criminal proceedings were opened against the believers.
