The press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov called the condition for the continuation of the grain agreement. He cannot be prosecuted until his conditions are met, a Kremlin spokesman told RIA Novosti.
“We believe that this cannot continue without fulfilling the conditions,” Peskov stressed.
So he answered the question about Moscow’s position on the possibility of extending the grain agreement.
UN Secretary-General AntĂłnio Guterres addressed a meeting of the UN Security Council, where he called for the implementation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, as well as to a memorandum on facilitating the export of food and fertilizers from Russia.
At the same time, Turkey has expressed concern about the possible termination of the grain agreement. Republican Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that if canceled, the world food crisis could arise as early as May. He added that Ankara was monitoring Moscow’s demands regarding the execution of the Russian part of the agreement.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine’s Ministry of Infrastructure raised concerns over the failure of the grain deal. The department reminded that in early April, due to Russia’s refusal, not a single Ukrainian ship passed inspection in ports for a week.
