The Ukrainian army, despite the existence of many negative forecasts for Kiev, can still carry out a successful counteroffensive. This assessment of the situation was shared by the Prime Minister of State Security of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Hero of the DPR, Colonel of the Reserve Andrei Pinchuk.
“According to my information, there are 11 offensive brigades, plus drawn units, which are now gathered in shock fists in the Bakhmut, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions,” he said in an interview with Ura.ru.
According to Pinchuk, the Ukrainian troops do not really have acute resource problems. He also pointed out that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) deployed Challenger, Abrams and Leopard tanks received from Western allies along the frontline. The range of shots produced by this technique exceeds the performance of anti-tank missile systems (ATGM) in service with the RF Armed Forces. Summarizing what was said, the colonel stressed that Russian forces must build up armor and aircraft stocks as soon as possible.
At the same time, the ex-minister noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have two major problems: the inability to control the airspace and the insufficient number of soldiers. The latter, in comparison with the Russian army, are much smaller, and for successful counter-offensive measures in this regard it is necessary to have an overwhelming advantage.
Earlier, military analyst Oleksiy Leonkov said that the General Staff of Ukraine decided to change the tactics of fighting in Artyomovsk by Ukrainian units. The expert also named the reason why, most likely, this was done.
