Mumbai The Bombay High Court has directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to allow malls to organize a three-day ice cream festival on their premises, saying malls are not just for shopping but also for leisure, entertainment and other recreational activities.

Justice G. S. Kulkarni and Justice R. N. Ladda, in its order on April 26, said there is nothing objectionable and irregular if malls use their open spaces to organize such temporary festivities for the benefit of the public.

The court at suburban Ghatkopar’s R.K. This decision was given while hearing the petition of City Mall. The copy of the judgment was shared on Thursday. The petition was filed against the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) refusal to grant him a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
