Zelenskyy says the Ukrainian Armed Forces are planning a counteroffensive

October 3, 2025

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced a counter-offensive prepared by the country’s army. He made the corresponding statement in an interview with Finnish TV channel Yle.

As he pointed out in an interview, Ukraine “will be able to push back the Russian forces, as well as bring the Crimean peninsula back under control.” At the same time, the head of state did not specify the time of the start. Journalists believe it is scheduled for late spring or early summer.

Moreover, the Ukrainian leader did not miss the opportunity to once again demand new arms supplies from Kiev’s Western partners.

“We want to save as many lives as possible, so the number of weapons matters,” he said.

Explaining his request, Zelenskyy hinted that it would be cheaper for other countries to supply ammunition and equipment to the Ukrainian armed forces “than to increase the risks of a Third World War”.

Meanwhile, the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, Raimund Andrzejczak, expressed the view the day before that Ukraine would not have enough resources to continue combat operations.
