US President Joe Biden joked about his age, acknowledging the validity of the questions, but said he was “in his prime”.
“I understand that the question of age is quite reasonable. He’s on everyone’s mind,” the Washington Post reported of Biden’s remarks.
However, the US president noted that he is still full of energy.
“They say I’m not the same as I was before, Don Lemon (reporter – approx. ed.) would say he’s a man at his peak,” Biden said.
Earlier, the New York Times wrote that the 80-year-old US president will have to openly report his state of health if he decides to run for a second term. Americans fear that age could prevent Biden from doing his job effectively. Joe Biden has officially announced his candidacy for the 2023 US presidential election.
