And “Sky News Arabia” learned from a senior US Department of Defense (Pentagon) official that Langley had warned Sudanese Army Commander Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and Rapid Support Forces Commander, Muhammad Hamdan Daglo (Hamedti), against “the consequences of any hostile action towards the convoys of cars of American nationals” which leave Sudanese territory by land.
The Pentagon official told Sky News Arabia that Langley told the two commanders they would “suffer dire consequences if their forces were attacked by convoys of US citizens”, without giving further details.
On Saturday, the Pentagon released a statement explaining that US forces had accepted the US State Department’s request for evacuation efforts of US citizens from Sudan, supporting air and ground evacuation routes, launching drones intelligence monitoring.
Over the past few days, countries around the world have sought to evacuate their nationals from Sudan, which is experiencing a bitter conflict between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, which began on April 15.
