Shukri: Al-Sisi ordered to provide the best possible care to the Sudanese

Shoukry’s remarks came when he received Ambassador Dafallah Al-Haj Ali, envoy of the President of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council, Army Commander Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, on Tuesday morning.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said the Sudanese envoy conveyed to the Egyptian Foreign Minister a verbal message from Al-Burhan to Al-Sisi, regarding the development of the situation. in Sudan in light of the military operations that have been taking place for more than two weeks.

Al-Haj Ali thanked the Egyptian government and people for welcoming Sudanese citizens fleeing the war.

And the Egyptian foreign minister said that “Sissi’s directives to all relevant state agencies from day one (of the crisis) are to provide the greatest possible care and hospitality to our Sudanese brothers.”

During the meeting, Shoukry reaffirmed Egypt’s firm and declared position since the first day of the Sudanese crisis, calling for the need for an immediate ceasefire in order to preserve the blood of the brotherly Sudanese people, and the importance of the commitment of all parties to stabilize the armistice and not to violate it, to allow humanitarian relief and healing operations, and to start a serious dialogue aimed at resolving existing differences.

The Minister also pointed out that “Egypt is keen to treat the current crisis in Sudan as an internal matter, and that is why its position was established during the meetings that dealt with the situation in Sudan within the League of Arab States, the African Union and the Security Council, on the need for all international and regional parties to respect the sovereignty of Sudan and not to interfere in the crisis in a way that would lead to fueling the conflict and to shed more blood.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also reviewed all the contacts he has made with his counterparts from a number of internationally and regionally active and influential countries, stressing the unity of the message of the international community calling for the need to stop the ongoing fighting in order to protect the capacities of the Sudanese people and to preserve the security, unity and national institutions of Sudan.

Shoukry conveyed to the Sudanese envoy Egypt’s deep concern over the continuation of the current situation in Sudan, stressing that Cairo will spare no effort to help the Sudanese brothers overcome this ordeal, based on its firm belief in the unity of destiny and in the common history. among the peoples of the Nile Valley.
