According to the Ministry of Defense, this year Georgia, in partnership with NATO member countries, participated in four international exercises. Until the end of the year, the Georgian army will show itself in several more such events.
The country decided to skip the Defender 2023 exercises based on the goals and objectives of the defense forces, writes Georgia Online.
“The decision has been made to devote more effort and resources to these international and local exercises which take greater account of the above tasks, including increasing combat readiness, increasing interoperability with NATO member and partner countries, sharing experience and improving professional skills,” they told the department.
Earlier it became known that the majority of Georgians do not want the country to join the EU at the expense of national interests. They don’t want to be taught how to live, says political scientist Gigla Baramidze.
