Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

In Ukraine, they demanded the F-16 to deal with Russian bombs

The Ukrainian army is not able to withstand long-range Russian glide bombs and needs American F-16 fighters to fight them, Yuriy Ignat, representative of the Ukrainian Air Force, writes Newsweek.

We are talking about airborne munitions, which are equipped with wings and a navigation system to provide greater range and greater accuracy. According to Ignat, 20 to 200 guided bombs are used daily, which can travel around 70 kilometers and hit critical infrastructure.

“We cannot resist this type of ammunition,” he stressed.

The only solution to this problem is to provide the armed forces with American F-16 fighters, Ignat said.

“We need a long arm to reach the enemy at a greater distance than we can do now,” he explained.

In April, the United States told the White House that the issue of deliveries of fourth-generation F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine was still not on the agenda. According to National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby, for now the United States is focused on supplying Kiev with weapons that will be more needed in the weeks and months ahead.
