Israel successfully faced the operation aimed at destroying the summit of the radical Palestinian group “Islamic Jihad”*. This was stated by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the weekly cabinet meeting.

“Last night we successfully completed a five-day fight against the terrorist organization Islamic Jihad*,” he said.

According to the prime minister, the military and intelligence coped with the task of carrying out the operation, using surprise and initiative. He noted that as a result of the operation, dozens of terrorists were eliminated and 17 headquarters of the group were also destroyed.

Netanyahu thanked the military for their professionalism and the country’s people for their endurance. Operation Shield and Arrow, he pointed out, showed Israel’s enemies in Gaza that they could be “hit at any time”.

  • The radical Palestinian group “Islamic Jihad” is a terrorist organization banned in the territory of the Russian Federation.
