Pune. Two minor girls drowned while swimming in the Khadakwasla dam of Pune district in Maharashtra on Monday. Fire department officials gave this information.
Nine girls and women aged between 10 and 30 years, residents of Buldhana district, had come to Pune’s Gorhe Khurd village to attend a family function, officials said. Seven girls had gone for a swim in the dam on Monday morning, but they started drowning.
Seeing them drowning, some people nearby tried to save them and saved five of them, but two girls aged 14 and 15 drowned, the official said. The bodies of the girls were later taken out from the water and sent for post-mortem, he said. Sent for
