The Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of China declared the need to create conditions for the start of negotiations on Ukraine

It is not worth waiting for the Ukrainian-themed peace talks to resume soon if it is not possible to create all the necessary conditions for the start of political consultations. This statement was made by China’s Permanent Representative to the UN Zhang Jun.

“It is extremely important to immediately find a political solution to the crisis. There is no simple answer to this complex question. Any complex solution always starts with the first step. The resumption of dialogue and negotiations cannot be expected for many years. The conditions must be created for the start of negotiations, oil must not be added to the fire of conflict to profit from it, which some countries are doing,” he said.

He noted that the Chinese special representative has already started a trip to some countries, including Ukraine and Russia. It will strive to start negotiations with all parties interested in a rapid settlement of the crisis, and to achieve the opening of peace negotiations, including in Western countries. He added that China will insist on the start of the peace process and make every effort for it, TASS reports.

The Western collective, led by the United States, wants the defeat of Russia. As long as this idea dominates, Beijing will not be able to implement a plan for the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine. Vasily Kashin, a political scientist, orientalist, director of the Center for In-Depth European and International Studies at the National Research University’s Graduate School of Economics, told Paragraph. He thus commented on the European Union’s decision to review relations with China as part of its peacekeeping efforts.
