Gangtok. At least 26 people, including 23 students, were injured when a school bus overturned in East Sikkim district on Thursday. Police gave this information.
The bus overturned at Singbel on the outskirts of Makha in East Sikkim district, about 40 km from state capital Gangtok. Of the 26 people, 23 were students, a driver and two were school staff, police said.
The injured were provided immediate medical treatment, police said. Twelve of the seriously injured have been taken to the STNM Multispeciality Hospital in Gangtok, police said, adding that the other injured are undergoing treatment at Singtam Hospital.
