The Moroccan girl has emerged into literary heaven, having published a group of books that have been widely praised by Moroccan teachers and writers.
The young designer recently released her second collection of short stories, titled “Sun the Size of a Palm”, after the first collection she published when she was twelve years old.
Abeer Azim is a writer and novelist, born May 8, 2009. She is a sophomore in middle school, international choice. She won the prize for best reciter in Morocco at the age of eleven, and was considered the youngest writer in the Arab world, as of 2020.
The passion for writing
A qualified girl, in the province of Taza, in the east of Morocco, broke all the prejudices about “Generation Z”. She grew up at a time when children were told they couldn’t find the way to books. They opened their eyes to the sea of artificial intelligence, in the middle of a maze of technological media, in an inexhaustible world.It contains notifications and messages.
However, Abeer has been attached to books since her early years, and she said in an interview with “Sky News Arabia”: “My mother used to read to me from a young age, but after I became able to decipher letters and movements, I started to read on my own. At first I tried to change the ending of sad stories, and in first grade my teachers noticed that my style was distinct, then I started to develop my writing and honing my talent with more by reading.”
Publications on childhood issues
Regarding her novels, Abeer said she has published her first project, which is a collection of stories titled “The Shield of the Nation”, which carries deep connotations of true patriotism, and highlights the childhood and the importance of raising it in the right way.
As for her second project, a novel entitled “Sun of the size of a palm”, the young writer approaches different themes, and declares in this regard: “I started in there from contradictory spaces, to attract attention on people in difficult situations, and determined people, and the final objective is the belief in the difference.
Titles and Awards
Abeer’s brilliance has led her to win several titles and awards, including the National Reading Grand Prize awarded by the Reading Network in Morocco, the Arab Diwan Prize in Egypt, the Cultural Creativity Prize in the Egyptian Republic two consecutively and the Ahmed Bokmakh Prize. .
She also received the National Prize for Youth Creativity, where she contributed the prize money to the support fund set up by King Mohammed VI to face the challenges of the pandemic, as well as the prize for the short story organized by the Regional Department of National Education. in the Fez-Meknes region.
Peer workshops
To share his passion for reading and writing, Abeer Azim revealed to “Sky News Arabia” that reading workshops were organized for students in educational institutions, in partnership with the Regional Directorate of Culture in Taza ( East). Last year, she organized reading workshops at the International Book Fair in Rabat, at the invitation of the Minister of Culture, Mehdi Bensaïd.
In this context, she sent a message to parents to strengthen their children’s relationship with the book, saying that “reading is the gateway to ascent and the crossing to the shore of success”.

In addition to continuing to prepare new novels, Abeer continues to organize workshops and meetings for the benefit of his peers to encourage them to read and deepen their knowledge, in order to contribute to the creation of a generation of young educated and familiar with the cultures of the world, to play its part in the advancement of Arab culture.
The ambitious girl also oversees the presentation of a paragraph in a program on one of the Egyptian channels, and she has been invited to various cultural programs on national and Arab channels and radios.
