• According to the police report, the head of the mission, Mohamed Nasser Shukroun, was officially informed of the facts through an interpreter, and the head of the local organizing committee of the Argentine Federation demanded the opening of a thorough investigation.

• The Iraqi Federation added in a later statement that, “In a rainy atmosphere and with high morale, our youth team conducted their training unit in the Jimenezza Training Club stadium, which is 10 km from the residence of the delegation of our team in the city of La Plata, in preparation to face the national team of Uruguay”, in the presence of the president of the Federation. “Adnan Darjal and two members of the Football Association (Mohamed Nasser and Khalaf Jalal), and the coach of our national team, Jesús Casas.”

• The hotel refused to comment on the requests from “Agence France Presse”.

The Under-20 World Cup will start on Saturday until June 11, with 24 teams taking part. Iraq, runners-up in Asia, are in Group E, along with Uruguay, England and Tunisia.

Iraq will play their first game against Uruguay on Monday, then face Tunisia, Africa’s fourth, on May 25, while they conclude their group stage appearance against European champions England. the 28th of the same month.
