The German public prosecutor’s office announced the continuation of the investigation into the sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. As stated, while there is no unambiguous and reliable information about the perpetrators of the incident .

“The identity of the perpetrators and their motivations are the subject of an ongoing investigation. At present, it is impossible to make unequivocal statements as to whether this was done under state control,” TASS said quoting the statement.

The German public prosecutor’s office notes that all available evidence is being compiled, but it is impossible to provide further information on the situation.


Germany does not plan to restore the damaged section of the pipeline. However, Nord Stream shareholder Wintershall Dea is working to ensure environmental safety in the accident area.
