Lukashenko says EurAsEC started in Putin’s kitchen

Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said Eurasianism and the Eurasian Economic Council started in the kitchen of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. The politician pointed out that then the idea was good.

“The idea was good. I remember when he invited us to his home. The peculiarity of this moment was that Ukraine was then with us. Leonid Danilovich Kuchma. Although I told my colleague that something is unlikely, given the situation that has already begun to emerge in the post-Soviet space and in our region,” Lukashenko said.

Lukashenko also said that the United States is trying to slow down the development of Russia’s cooperation with African countries, there is a struggle for these states. In addition, to maintain information security in the EAEU, a single integrated information system is required. The leader of Belarus concluded that more than a quarter of industrial goods imported into the EAEU could be replaced by their own products.
