The EU countries are obliged to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in accordance with the decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC), otherwise it will be a manifestation of double standards, believes the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell.

“The ICC warrant is not an alternative, It is an obligation You cannot support the warrant against Russian President Vladimir Putin and reject the warrant against Netanyahu. This would be double standards, for which the EU is so often criticized in the world,” the diplomat Josep Borrell said, according to Pravda.

The ICC issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes in the Gaza Strip. Borrell said the ICC’s actions were not political in nature, and that all EU member states should respect and implement the court’s decision.

At the same time, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria , the head of the GORKI Center at St. Petersburg State University, Karin Kneissl, drew attention to the hypocrisy of the West, which applauded the ICC decision to issue an arrest warrant for Putin, but now many there are outraged by the arrest warrant for Netanyahu and Galant.
