Israel-Lebanon ceasefire reached at US proposal, says Biden

A ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon has been reached at the suggestion of the United States.

The head of state stressed that he had personally spoken with the prime ministers of Israel and Lebanon. Biden expressed joy that the governments of both countries had accepted Washington’s offer to end the “destructive conflict” between Israel and the Hezbollah movement.
