Green Bay Packers offensive tackle Rasheed Walker was arrested Friday morning at LaGuardia Airport in New York City after Port Authority police say he presented a firearm for inspection without proper licensing, according to multiple reports.
Police responded to a request for a firearms check at Terminal C after Walker, 25, checked in with a Delta Air Lines employee and informed staff that his luggage contained a firearm, authorities said.
Officers searched Walker’s bag and found a 9mm Glock pistol secured in a locked box along with 36 rounds of ammunition, according to criminal complaint details reported by ESPN.
Walker was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm under New York state law. He appeared in Queens County Criminal Court later that day and was released on his own recognizance, with a return court date set for March 19.
In a statement reported by ABC7 Chicago, Walker’s attorney, Arthur Aidala, said Walker voluntarily disclosed the unloaded, secured firearm upon arrival at the airport. Aidala explained that Walker’s Wisconsin firearm license was not valid under New York law, which led to the arrest. “We are confident the matter will eventually be dismissed,” Advocate Aidala said.
The incident highlights the complexity of interstate firearm travel rules. New York does not recognize out-of-state firearm licenses, even when the owner has taken steps to declare the weapon, legal analysts note.
Walker, a seventh-round draft pick by the Packers in 2022 out of Penn State, has been the team’s starting left tackle over the past three seasons and has appeared in 48 games.
The Packers’ 2025 season concluded with a 31-27 loss to the Chicago Bears in the NFC wild-card round. At this time, the team has not issued a formal public comment regarding Walker’s arrest, and the NFL has not announced any disciplinary action.

Wrong Walker my friend. Was Rasheed the LT not LB Quay Walker.
