Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Biden’s inauguration rehearsal canceled

The rehearsal of the inauguration of the new American president, Joe Biden, which was supposed to take place on Sunday, January 17, was postponed due to security reasons, writes the “Politiko” portal, citing its sources.

According to the portal, the rehearsal was postponed for the next day.

Biden’s team also canceled the train departure from Wilmington to Washington, scheduled for January 18, due to heightened security concerns.

Biden will be inaugurated on January 20.

The director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Christopher Wray, said earlier that they were looking for individuals who could pose a threat to the inauguration.

Presidential inaugurations are usually attended by hundreds of thousands of visitors to Washington, but the ceremonies have been reduced due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The warnings were issued after the incursion of supporters of the outgoing US President Donald Trump into the Congress building on January 6, when at least five people were killed.
