The military prosecutor’s office conducted an inspection and found no confirmation of data on damage to the health of Tuvan servicemen of the Donetsk People’s Republic. About this RBC said Andrey Voronkin, United Forces Group Deputy Military Prosecutor.
In response to a request from the publication, it is said that “the facts of damage to the health of the military have not been established”.
On February 5, the telegram channel “Asians from Russia” published a video message in the Tuvan language, which contained information about beatings and threats against military personnel by “representatives of the people’s militia of the DPR”. . On the tapes, the servicemen complained that they had not yet been assigned to a specific military unit.
“They fired at us with machine guns, forced us to do push-ups. They said we wouldn’t get out of here alive. They said we belonged to them, to the DNR. The military police came and beat us,” the man said in the video.

Most of those mobilized from Tuva serve in the separate 55th Motorized Rifle Brigade, which is located on the territory of the republic itself. Since the end of October 2022, many soldiers have taken part in the military operation in Ukraine.

After receiving this video, the governor of Tuva, Vladislav Khovalyg, announced that he was preparing an appeal to the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense. He added that he had called Vitaly Khotsenko, head of the DPR government, and asked to “check the legal actions of the people’s militia mentioned in the video messages”.
On February 8, the head of the region wrote in his Telegram channel that the Ministry of Defense would transfer the authors of the complaint to the 55th Motorized Rifle Brigade, but this “is not a quick deal”.
On February 9, former Tuva governor, State Duma deputy speaker Sholban Kara-ool said that he visited the Donbass together with Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and Viktor Goremykin to meet the servicemen who recorded this video message. According to him, “there is no such thing that someone was paralyzed”, but some of the wounded mobilized still needed “medical treatment” and they were sent to medical institutions. Kara-ool noted that they had conversations with the military and “talked about current legislation regarding payments and much more.”
The Deputy Chairman of the State Duma added that the military prosecutor’s office is establishing the details of what happened to the mobilized, and that the “separate military police of the DPR” mentioned in the video message do not does not really exist.
