Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met today with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, who is currently visiting Egypt. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations, regional conditions and others. Shoukry said in a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart: The consultations launched by the two sides will be the path to restoring relations between the two countries and starting a new phase. The Egyptian Foreign Minister described the talks as transparent and frank due to the importance of these relations, expressing his aspiration to continue communication and coordination with his Turkish counterpart, to open channels of communication between government agencies, and to continue joint work to restore these relations. For his part, Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Turkish Foreign Minister, stressed the importance of strengthening relations between his country and Egypt, noting that during the coming period, important steps will be taken to strengthen these relations. He pointed out that the talks with his Egyptian counterpart dealt with a number of regional issues.
