Russian-Chinese relations have reached a new level and continue to grow stronger. This was confirmed by Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the Russian capital today. He was met at the airport by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
“My visit will be fruitful and give new impetus to the development of relations with Russia,” Xi said as he got off the plane. He also expects to discuss international issues with Putin and outline a plan for the development of strategic cooperation.
The Chinese leader noted that together with Russia, his country stands ready to safeguard the world order based on international law.
“China and Russia are good neighbors and reliable partners,” Xi Jinping summed up.
The Chinese president’s historic visit to Russia will last from March 20 to 22. This is his first trip abroad after being re-elected head of state for a third term.
According to the Flightradar24 service, the plane with the Chinese leader and members of his delegation on board landed a little earlier at Vnukovo-2 airport. More than 100,000 people followed the movement of the plane on the territory of Russia.
Political scientist Marat Bashirov noted that the motorcade of the Chinese delegation would be huge. Dozens of cars will leave the airport.
As Dmitry Peskov reported, the President of the People’s Republic of China will unofficially meet with Vladimir Putin today around 4:30 p.m. According to him, today’s meeting between Putin and Xi will be one-on-one. The official ceremony will begin tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
As noted, prior to this, the two leaders communicated over 40 times. The last time the Chinese leader was in Moscow was in 2019.
On the eve of the Chinese leader’s historic visit to Moscow, Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin exchanged media publications. For example, Putin wrote an article for the Chinese newspaper Renmin Ribao. However, the answer was not long in coming – the head of the PRC published an author’s publication in the Russian media.
