Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

German Chancellor Scholz said phone conversations with Putin lasted up to an hour and a half

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced telephone conversations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. According to him, they lasted up to one and a half hours and the president always behaved very politely.

“These are long conversations, sometimes for an hour, sometimes for an hour and a half. Sometimes in German, sometimes with translation. And Putin is always very polite,” the Rheinische Post quoted him as saying.

According to Scholz, the parties fail to reach a compromise and adhere to cardinal differences in their views on the Ukrainian conflict.

The Chancellor stressed the need to be prepared for the fact that the resolution of the conflict may take a long time, as well as the fact that after the end of the confrontation, everything will not immediately return to normal.

“We must not stop our efforts to end this conflict either,” Scholz added.

He has previously said that the Ukraine conflict will obviously not end any time soon, despite Western efforts to end it as soon as possible.
