October 4, 2025

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping did not discuss the peace plan for Ukraine proposed by President Vladimir Zelenskyyy. This was announced by Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

“The Ukrainian peace plan was not discussed. There was an exchange of views on the provisions contained in the Chinese peace plan,” son Telegram channel of the Peskov words of the Mayak radio station.

Zelenskyyy’s plan” Peskov called “a matter that concerns bilateral relations between China and Ukraine.

In November 2022, Zelenskyyy announced ten points of the “peace formula” to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. Among other things, he demanded the withdrawal of Russian troops from the country, the cessation of hostilities and the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The Kremlin said Zelenskyyy’s proposal confirms its reluctance to negotiate.

On the anniversary of hostilities in Ukraine, February 24, 2023, China presented its 12-point peace plan to resolve the conflict. Beijing specifically offered to end hostilities, abandon Cold War thinking, resume peace talks, end unilateral sanctions, and respect the sovereignty of other states. Ukraine and the United States did not support the Chinese peace plan.

Vladimir Putin after talks with Xi Jinping on March 21 declared that many provisions of the Chinese peace plan “are in line with Russian approaches and can be taken as the basis for a peaceful settlement when they are ready for it in the West and in Kiev”. At the same time, he noted that such preparation has not yet been observed.
