Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The Russian military has warned that depleted uranium munitions will harm the Ukrainian armed forces and Ukrainian civilians

The UK’s intention to send depleted uranium munitions to Kiev will have negative consequences for both the Ukrainian military and the country’s civilians. Igor Kirillov, head of the radiation, chemical and biological protection (RCBZ) troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, said this during a briefing.

“The West is well aware of the negative consequences of using munitions containing depleted uranium. Despite the fact that the use of such ammunition will cause irreparable damage to the health of the Ukrainian armed forces and the civilian population, NATO countries, in particular the United Kingdom, express their willingness to provide this type of arms to the Kiev regime,” he said.

In his speech, Kirillov referred to British Deputy Defense Minister Annabelle Goldie, who said that her country, together with Challenger-2 tanks, would supply Kiev with armor-piercing shells containing depleted uranium.

“After the use of depleted uranium shells, significant sown areas on the territory of Ukraine will be contaminated and radioactive substances will be transported to the rest of the territory by vehicles,” Kirillov warned.

The head of the RKhBZ troops also indicated that irreparable damage will be inflicted on the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine, including agricultural production and animal husbandry.
