Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog appealed to the country’s government with a request to immediately stop the procedure for adopting judicial reform. According to The Jerusalem Post, the Israeli leader addressed party leaders in the Knesset, the coalition and the opposition as a whole and called for putting people first. At the same time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to speak.
“People are worried. Security, economy, society – everything is under threat. The eyes of all the people of Israel are turned towards you. In the interest of the unity of the people of Israel, in the interest of accountability, I ask you to stop legislative activity immediately,” the Duke said.
Recall that on March 26, about 630,000 people took to the streets of Israel to protest against the judicial reform, which was passed last month in the first reading by the country’s parliament. So, in Tel Aviv, about 300,000 people gathered in mass processions.
