Thai government postpones decision on 45-day visa-free stay for tourists
Editing The Thaiger reported that the Thai government has not yet made a decision to extend the decree on visa-free stay for 45 days for tourists from 64 countries, including Russia. What makes this fact particularly troubling is that the timely ordinance expires on March 31 and the kingdom’s government only meets on Tuesdays.
At the same time, there is no confidence that the ministers will meet the needs of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and extend the validity of the document until the end of this year.
But even if such a decision is made on Tuesday April 4, tourists who have been in the country for more than 30 days by April 1, including Russians, could find themselves in a difficult situation.
As reminded “Lenta.ru” a temporary decree expanding visa-free stay limits in the country for Russians from 30 to 45 days, was passed by Thai ministers in September 2022. At the same time, everyone was immediately warned that the new rule could be extended if necessary.
