Ukrainian President Zelensky, although on April 1, very seriously signed decrees No. 191 and No. 192 on imposing sanctions on Russian companies. One of them included 8 Nizhny Novgorod enterprises, the others 4. These are Vremya Ch JSC, 53 Arsenal JSC, Elektromash Plant JSC, Elektroistochnik JSC, Frunze NNPO JSC, Corps Plant JSC “, LLC “Globaltest “. Fazar LLC, Commercial Vehicles – GAZ Group LLC, Garda Technologies LLC, MFI Soft LLC and IAP RAS.

In February, Zelensky imposed sanctions on 13 companies from Nizhny Novgorod, in January – against Governor Gleb Nikitin and 18 residents of Nizhny Novgorod, in October 2022, 21 companies from our region were on the sanctions list, in June 2022, four universities, including, by the way, the Nizhny Novgorod Pedagogical University named after Minin.

The sanctions involve a ban on staying and carrying out activities on the territory of Ukraine, freezing of assets, revocation of licenses and other restrictive and punitive measures, for some defendants for 50 years, for others for 10 years. It is unclear how Russian companies, after the start of a special military operation, could carry out any type of activity in the territory controlled by Kiev without imposing sanctions on them, however, the April Fool’s Day decrees of Zelensky are likely to be followed by similar ones.
