Defendants in A-50 bombing case near Minsk face death penalty

The defendants in the criminal case opened on the fact of the terrorist attack at Machulishchi airfield in Belarus face the death penalty.
“All defendants in the criminal case were charged under part 3 of article 289 of the Criminal Code of Belarus (“Terrorist act committed by an organized group”). The maximum penalty provides for a penalty of up to the death penalty, ”reports the ONT Telegram channel with reference to the State Security Committee.
Thirty people are involved in the case. The perpetrators acted under the control of foreign intelligence services.

In early March, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced the arrest of a terrorist from the Ukrainian special services and his accomplices. According to the head of state, they are involved in an attempt to sabotage an A-50 plane at Machulishchi airfield. At the same time, the sabotage plan was drawn up eight months ago in Kiev. Later, footage of the detention of suspect Nikolai Shvets appeared. He admitted to acting on orders sent by the SBU.
