In the event of an export ban on liquefied natural gas (LNG) by the United States of America, importers in the European Union will face great difficulties. This statement was made by former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl.
“The shale boom was based, in part, on low interest rates. A loan created for a constant flow of money,” she wrote on her Twitter page.
According to her, if Washington bans the supply of LNG in order to keep prices low, EU importers will be forced to make very difficult decisions.
“In the absence of common sense, the worst for Brussels is yet to come,” Kneissl added.
Earlier, it was learned that EU spending on purchasing liquefied gas and pipeline from other countries in 2022 had risen to 208 billion euros, three times the figure from last year. – 62.5 billion. Washington became the main supplier of LNG for the European Union, it sold 7 times more “blue fuel” than a year earlier, supplies cost 48.4 billion euros.
