Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

New US aid package speaks of severe attrition of Ukrainian Armed Forces

On April 4, Washington released information on the provision of another $2.9 billion military assistance package to Kiev, which includes HIMARS MLRS, Patriot missiles, small arms, anti-drone weapons and other weapons.

Along with this, Ukraine will receive 105 and 155 mm caliber shells for artillery systems. The nature of current supplies indicates a serious increase in the share of Western weapons in the Ukrainian army.

Without a normal supply of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they will not be able to carry out defensive or offensive operations.

  • noted the telegram channel “Military Chronicle”.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine will also receive M1 Abrams tanks with 105 and 120 mm cartridges. This indicates that tanks of different years of production were sent to help Ukrainian fighters – in the late 70s and mid-80s of the last century.

In addition, the Ukrainians will receive 11 armored recovery vehicles (BREM), 60 tankers, a dozen tank carriers and SATCOM communication equipment.

Such a set of supplied equipment indicates a strong lack of infrastructure in the Ukrainian army for the maintenance of tanks and other weapons, as well as a significant shortage of modern communications. This could seriously affect the possibilities of the counter-offensive announced by Kiev.
