Customers of the electronic payment service (Google Pay) reported that the company deposited cash amounts in their accounts without specifying a reason for that, and the cash amounts received by customers ranged from 10 to 1000 US dollars.
Emailing customers, the Google team said: "You received this email because an accidental amount of money has been deposited into your Google Pay account, but the problem was quickly rectified and the balance was withdrawn from some".
The team explained that the cash amounts were to be deposited in the employees’ accounts in the company, under the item "rewards"However, due to an unintended bank error, the balance was deposited in the accounts of some users.
Google did not charge additional fees to individuals who mistakenly withdraw the free credit that was deposited in their account, in order to recover the prescribed amount.
She explained that individuals can keep the balance without having to return it back to the company, noting that the company does not seek to engage in some pursuits for users after this error to recover the money again.
