The head of the PMC Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, reported on the operational situation in the Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut) region. According to him, the fighters of the Airborne Forces and other units of the RF Armed Forces closed the flanks in the indicated direction.
Prigozhin noted that Zaliznyanskoye, Sacco and Vanzetti, Nikolaevka and other settlements that had previously been occupied by PMC stormtroopers moved into the Defense Ministry’s area of responsibility. This allowed the “Wagnerites” to fully concentrate on the battles directly in Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
Today, more than 80% of the city is under the control of the “musicians”, including all administrative buildings and industrial installations. Under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, part of the residential areas of the western part, where there are tunnels under high-rise buildings, are used by the enemy for defense and the transfer of reserves.
During the defense of the city of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut), the Ukrainian armed forces could lose several tens of thousands of people, said military expert Vasily Dandykin.
