The Excellence Center for Training and Development at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, in cooperation with the Center for Empowerment and Elderly Care (Ihsan), one of the centers of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work affiliated to the Ministry of Social Development and Family, launched today the training program (wisdom), which is concerned with training the elderly and youth at the same time. To preserve the social cohesion of the State of Qatar.

The program, which bears the slogan “Our youth is an extension of our elders”, aims to invest in the opportunities and challenges of the new millennium by benefiting from the experiences of the elderly, and instilling concepts concerned with the importance of the role of the elderly in the youth society, as well as highlighting the role of the elderly in the institutional society.

In this context, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Kuwari, CEO of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, stressed, in his speech during the launching ceremony of the program, the importance of working to consolidate the principles of investment in the experiences of the elderly in Qatari society, and to benefit from their experiences and capabilities in creating a state of balance between generations. adding "This program is designed according to the highest standards and the latest training techniques, with the aim of obtaining distinguished outputs, while maintaining excellence, innovation and leadership, and ensuring the achievement of the program’s primary goal, which lies in achieving communication between generations.".

In turn, Dr. Abdel-Wahhab El-Affendi, President of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, explained that Arab and Islamic societies still carry many values ​​and concepts that concern the elderly and value their experience and respect them. Individual and material, stressing the importance of focusing on the values ​​advocated by Islam, such as respect for the elderly, kinship ties, etc., as well as building bridges of communication between generations, in order to build a better future, appreciating the efforts of the Ehsan Center and its programs aimed at supporting the community.

For his part, Mr. Fahd bin Muhammad al-Khayarin, Executive Director of the Ehsan Center, stressed the importance of the “wisdom” program, which targets the elderly among the center’s employees and employees, and its positive impact on developing their various skills and experiences, pointing to the efforts of the Ehsan Center to create permanent and effective partnerships under This agreement concluded between him and the Center of Excellence for Training and Consulting, in a manner that benefits and benefits everyone.

It is worth noting that the “wisdom” program seeks, during the coming months, to train no less than 200 young men and women on advanced skills and societal values ​​in the areas of benefiting from the elderly, and work to build bridges between the old and the new generation with the aim of investing all societal energies, in the second phase. Work to strengthen this communication network between young people and the elderly, to benefit from their expertise in various fields.
