Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Measles vaccination coverage in Russia exceeds 95%

Measles vaccination coverage on average in Russia exceeds 95%, which excludes the development of an epidemic. This is reported by TASS with reference to Rospotrebnadzor. Insufficient levels of vaccination are one of the reasons for the complicated situation in some regions.

It is also worth noting that in those regions with the most difficult epidemiological situation – Dagestan, Samara and Novosibirsk regions – foci of measles are localized. Now Rospotrebnadzor is applying anti-epidemic measures.

Previously, an infectious disease specialist of the highest category, Nikolai Chekun, told Zvezda about the likelihood of a measles outbreak in Russia. The risk of developing the disease, the doctor believes, is low.

According to him, vaccination against measles is the only reliable way to prevent the disease.
