Pevkur, Estonian Defense Minister: the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will begin “in about a month”
Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur estimates that the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive will begin “in about a month”. According to him, the now active actions are only hampered by the rainy weather.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced in early April that the Ukrainian counter-offensive “could begin this summer”. He then said it would start “soon”. In the American media, the exact date also broke – the Ukraine offensive was supposedly scheduled for April 30.
On Friday, the head of the Estonian military department at the US Ramstein Air Base in Germany took part in a meeting of the contact group on Ukraine. He listened to grassroots opinions and concluded that it might be “about another month” before a real counter-offensive began. If the weather changes, it could happen sooner, he suggested. “Otherwise it will take a month, maybe two,” Pevkur told ERR.
